The perfect weekend

Wow, what a weekend! Blue skies and beautiful summer in Shanghai. Plus it was my birthday, wohoo! Robert scored points big time and organized a bunch of b-day surprises for me, which rounded up to be one of the best weekends in town so far. In need of tips for a good night out? Keep…

My China Bucket List

I might totally be in the honeymoon phase of moving to a new place, but I have to say I absolutely love living in Shanghai! I feel so at home here. That makes me think about the fact that Robert and I won’t stay here forever (for now the plan is about 3 years), which in…

My new best friends – Online grocery stores

Phew, what a busy week it has been! Long days with plenty on the to-do list, plus a crazy heatwave that sucks all energy out of you the second you step away from the aircon… With weeks like these I’m super-happy that my new best friends are there to help me through it all. They…

Hot Weather, WeChat, Taxis and the Metro

It’s been a little over a week now since Robert and I arrived in Shanghai. The feeling is still fantastic, but there’s definitely a lot to take in, learn and get used to. Here are some first impressions and observations from the first week in our new city:  It’s getting really, really hot and humid…

First Day Shanghai Vibes

We made it! After a long day and night of traveling Robert and I finally arrived in Shanghai, our new home. The trip went really well and all of our 8 suitcases made it all the way, yay! Our flight was from Copenhagen via Helsinki with Finnair, which is the fastest and best way to…

Hey hey Instagram, long time no see! It’s been a busy couple of months which turned into an unintentional social media break. But I have so many nice summer photos that are perfect to look at now that it’s crappy and rainy outside 😅
Guys, if you’ve ever wanted to visit Yu Garden without the crowds, now is the time! ⛩ Only 500 people are allowed to enter in the morning, and another 500 in the afternoon.
Do you think it’s already safe to travel within China?
Have you heard of 1933 Old Millfun in Shanghai? I hadn’t until last week, but had to go take a look as soon as I saw some pictures. It’s an art deco warehouse complex from the 1930’s that used to be a slaughterhouse, and now houses small shops, cafés and offices up in Hongkou District. A strange place but definitely worth a visit! More in the blog 🐾
My favorite small businesses in Shanghai now posted on the blog 👉 link in bio! Ping @spareleash @gomahealth @zoaje @soapnutrepublic @lizzysallnatural @charlottagandolfo 👏👏 I know there are so many more! Who are your favorites?
Happy 4th Shanghaiversary to me! 🎂 This city has been such a good home to @robert.ohrnberg and me. Some of my favorite memories from the past 4 years are…
This time last year 🔙🏕 Camping and trekking on the wild section of the Great Wall. I miss nature! Can’t wait for travel to be safe again and for my foot to heal so I can go hiking (or just for a long walk 😅). #greatwall #greatwallofchina #hikingadventures #missingnature #hikingvibes #beijing #beijinglife
